Sacred Heart Cathedral - Some members of Saints-Friskies Class of '86 gather for a picture on their graduation day. Sacred Heart Cathedral always provided the platform and backdrop for generations to make memories. For decades, one class after another posed for pictures on these steps. Prior to the mid 80's, commencement ceremonies where held here in the morning, then baccalaureate was held later in the afternoon at E. J. Roye. By the mid 80s, both ceremonies where held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral. The institution lives on.
Who are the graduates in this picture? We see Juliana S'kon Koffa. Tell us who the others are.
P.S. We will issue a correction if we are historically inaccurate about the mid-80's. Please let us know.
One of the many organizations that Saints Friskies were proud of was our choir, known as All Saints Choir. This picture was taken on the campus of St. Patrick's as the choir was getting ready for a performance. Brother Edward Foken, Principal of St. Patrick's High School, is standing on the far right in the first row, with the Principal of St. Teresa's Convent standing next to him. Thanks to Daphne Cassell-Goodman, we are reminded that our Choir Director was Ms. Bonnie Jacobs. She is standing in the front row, 7th from the left. Others in the picture that we remember are: Roosevelt Doe, the late Aaron Milton Jr., John Kunwon, Eldridge Nims, Daphne Cassell, Jackie Sherman, Loretta Trueh, S. Jaitoh Koffa, John Cooper, Joseph Ahmed, Arnold Gbenyon, Warrick Logan, George Gbenyon, Emmett Dunn, B. K. Robertson and John Luiken. Please use the comments section to help us identify as many members of the choir as possible.
