THIRD TERM AGENDA
BEYOND CONSTRUCTION & SCHOLARSHIPS
JUNE 2024 - MAY 2027
It has been seven years since the Koffa Team embarked on a journey to provide scholarships for girls at St. Teresa’s Convent (STC) and Rebuild St. Patrick’s High School (SPHS) in Liberia. Along the way you gave us two critical components necessary for us to be successful: trust and money. With your help, we have so far raised approximately $670,000.00 to educate our girls at STC and Rebuild St. Patrick’s.
These accomplishments have brought us here: a third term as Executive Leaders of SFAA-USA. The trust and confidence you continue to have in us is remarkable. We do not take this for granted. None of our achievements are possible without your continuous support. For this, we are eternally grateful. With our re-election, we need you now more than ever. Our agenda for a third term is built on the theme “Beyond Construction and Scholarships”.
What does this mean?
SEEKING OUR NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS
Greetings Saints Friskies Nation.
This is to inform you that my 3rd Term, May 2024 - May 2027, will be my last as President of Saints Friskies Alumni Association-USA. By May 2027, I will have dedicated 10 years of my life to this dynamic organization. Wow! Time flies.
While my journey to 10 has and will not be without challenges, your participation and support have made it possible to accomplish many of the things we have. For that I will always be grateful.
But, it is time for us to start looking for and mentoring our next generation of leaders. I am encouraging all alumni, especially those who attended our schools between 1985 and 2010, to consider this appeal. New leadership will not only infuse new ideas into the
organization, but it will ensure the continuity of our projects in Liberia.
If you are interested in becoming a future leader of SFAA-USA, please call 301-526-8705 or email sfaa@stcsphs.org. We need to begin succession planning that will take us beyond the Koffa years.
VISION FOR BUILDING TECHNOLOGY INTO EDUCATION
As we approach the final phases of the rebuilding of St. Patrick's, we wish to present our vision for building technology into the education delivery systems a St. Patrick's. It begins with designing, building, and implementing a network infrastructure that will support both conventional and innovative teaching and learning methods. As soon as we are done estimating the cost of the network infrastructure, we will provide you with that information. In the meantime, click on the button below to view the high-level summary of our vision and send questions, comments or suggestions to sfaa@stcsphs.org or call 301-526-8705.

SFAA 2024 HUMANITARIAN AWARD HONOREE
Over 37 years ago, a group of St. Teresa's Convent (STC) alumnae responded to an urgent plea for help to keep the doors of STC open. That call came from Mother Anulpha, then Principal of STC who was regarded as the "conscience of the convent".
A distinguished group of Friskies heeded the call. They founded ST. TERESA'S EDUCATIONAL FUND, INC. (STEF) to address the urgent needs of the school. Their story is an extraordinary example of philanthropy and dedication to the education of girls at our alma mater. We are privileged to be walking in the trail of these magnificent women. As a result, we will honor them with our prestigious SFAA HUMANITARIAN AWARD at SFAA-USA 29th Annual Convention in Washington, DC on May 26, 2024. This is commendation that is long overdue.

COMMENTS BY MELVIN HALL:
When I was in Liberia during the early 90’s I had the life-changing opportunity to teach Chemistry and Geography at St. Teresa’s Convent. Over the last several years, I have attended various programs and reunions here in the U.S. and have run into several of my former students. They have greeted me with enthusiasm and good will. Many of them have shared their very impressive experiences with me. I perused my photo archive and found a few pictures of some of my former students. I am posting these pictures with the hope that those on Facebook will recognize themselves and/or their classmates and let me know how everyone is doing..
*NOTE: Please leave a message in the comment section of our Back In Da Day blog letting us know which class is this.
HISTORY OF SPHS
St. Patrick's High School was a high school in Monrovia, Liberia, from 1936 to 1996. It was one of the top secondary schools in the country.
In 1934, after being appointed Vicar Apostolic of Liberia, Father John Collins founded the St. Patrick School in Monrovia for the benefit of local children under the auspices of the Society of African Missions. He was rejoined by Father Francis Carroll in 1936, and under their direction, the school extended to the secondary level in 1939.
